This is one of the short rivers that characterised the coast between the mouths of the Timavo and the Isonzo. It collected various resurgence waters between San Canzian d’Isonzo and Staranzano and then flowed into the Sdobba. At the end of the nineteenth century, following a series of interventions, its mount was moved to Quarantia.
The many water regulation interventions connected with the reclamation have made it almost completely disappear: today its waters flow into the main reclamation canal that gives its name to the area itself (Brancolo District).
